So, who is the murderer?
To convict the murderer, it is necessary to find more evidence.
◆ Witness testimony – the detectives interviewed the tenants in the house. A neighbour, Mary Newish, provided important information. She went to walk her dog at around three in the morning and met a young man on the stairs. The young man was running from the second floor. He was approximately 20 – 25 year old, 170 – 180 cm tall and slim. His hair was most probably fair and he was wearing a white T-shirt. When he said hello, she noticed he stuttered.
The main suspect is the player corresponding the description of the unknown man. Besides the witness saw him short after the murder happened.

Other evidence:
◆ Having interviewed the players, the detectives learnt that the suspect had a close relationship with Martina Birdie. But she was having an affair also with the coach, Martin Ash. That is why there were frequent quarrels.
◆ On a T-shirt of the suspect, blood was found. DNA analysis proved it was the victim´s blood.
Thanks to these facts, the young man was arrested and underwent a polygraph test. The experts realized that many of the answers concerning his theoretical involvement in the crime showed signs of nonstandard reactions.
The 20-years-old player, under the weight of evidence, pleaded guilty.
